This unique program creates the foundation for developing effective lifelong practices that inspire leaders, and those around them, to continuously evolve.
Leadership as a Lifelong Practice
is a nine-month experience combining group meetings, coaching, readings, exercises and ongoing practices designed to deeply enhance leadership capacity through self-awareness, other-awareness and together-awareness. We guide clients along three integrated threads that define the lifelong practice of leadership. The concepts that we integrate (synthesize) include:
Self–Awareness Practices
Developing deep self-awareness by understanding one’s core, and usually, automatic drivers of behaviors and attitudes – participants learn to see their default personality patterns and more deeply understand themselves, and learn to apply this wisdom in their lives: they learn how to live and lead to one’s full potential.
Other-Awareness Practices
The work of leadership must include a deep desire to learn about other people – about their desires, fears and motivations. Participants learn frameworks for understanding others more deeply, for listening more completely and practices for continuing to develop other-awareness and intelligence: leading others toward their full potentials.
Together-Awareness Practices
Teams and organizations are networks of relationships and conversations. Participants, while enhancing self-awareness and other-awareness, develop higher levels of conversational and relational intelligences and practices. They learn how to unleash the creative power of authentic diversity and lead teams and organizations toward full potential as a unit.
Given the complexity of human beings and organizations, we guide clients in developing an ongoing set of practices – an approach that accounts for the interdependencies across nine areas of leadership culture that are necessary to continuously innovate and evolve.
Leaders from varied organizations and with diverse backgrounds enroll in this course and are guided toward developing their unique purpose-driven practices of leadership. Join this small cohort of leaders on a transformative path toward authentic and fulfilling leadership. The course meets half days (except for a full-day kickoff) every three to four weeks to learn new leadership concepts, to share ideas and reflections, to be coached, and to put concepts into practice.
Two former tenured university professors teach, coach and guide participants to learn the lifelong practices of leadership in a peaceful setting in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where participants are immersed in the work of transformation and growth as leaders.
